Wow - my vegetable garden is growing beautifully this year. This seemed like a good idea to start, but now I'm not sure what to do with all this produce!! Darrin Parmenter to the rescue. Darrin is the Horticulture Agent with LaPlata County Extension Office and will be offering tips for harvesting and storing your fruits and vegetables. This seminar is FREE and part of the Great Garden Series offered in conjunction with the Library, the Durango Botanical Society and the La Plata County Extension office. Herbs are important on several levels; as culinary additions to our food, medicinal products, aromatherapy, crafting and gardening. They are easy to grow in the Durango climate and deer for the most part, will not bother them. Learn about what herbs are good for different applications, what the easiest ones to grow, how to harvest and store them. Enjoy a "scratch and sniff" of fresh herbal fragrances and learn the simple art of making pesto, with a tasting!
